Dia de Muertos

Sunday, November 1

8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.

Bring photos of loved-ones passed to be placed on the ofrenda as the Cathedral community celebrates Día de Muertos, a day of remembrance and a celebration of the life of the deceased. The holiday is celebrated in many parts of the world, especially in Central and South America where families and loved ones go to the resting place of the deceased and clean the area where the loved one is buried. Families gathered around an ofrenda often pray or reflect upon the life of the deceased. Other common sights include sugar skulls and pan de muerto (bread of the dead), which is a sweet, flavored bread
