Weekly Update | April 5, 2026

Early Saturday morning, it’s not quite time to wish everyone a happy, joyful Easter.

On Wednesday, we finished our last Lenten study with the Rev. Dr. Maggie Dawn, and heard a beautiful offering of lamentations by sopranos Stefanie Moore and Natalie Buickians singing François Couperin’s Leçons de Ténèbres. On Thursday during the Maundy Thursday dinner, The Rev. Mel Soriano challenged us to remember what it means to drink from the cup, challenging us to re-commit to a new way of being in this world, especially with our neighbors. A delicious meal was provided by Chef Lionel Pigeard and his assistant; then our sanctuary was stripped to the bone. For the past three days, as always, we have been blessed with glorious music offered by our Cathedral Choir, under the masterful direction of Dr. Christopher Gravis and Dr. Zachery Neufeld. Then yesterday, we heard Evan Roberts, Dominic Delzompo and Krishna Raman chant with heart the Passion of our Lord Jesus Christ. The gifted Dustin Seo played cello each hour as we prayed. Through it all, we’ve gathered as a community, side by side working together, thinking, creating, sharing our God given gifts, and learning, listening and praying together. Deacon Margaret gave a meaningful sermon too!

Nothing happens around here without our amazing staff and parishioners. Flowers are being arranged by Martha and Sharon, with Marc making all things possible. I can hear Zach practicing on the organ for Holy Saturday and Easter Sunday, services that you will not want to miss.

Please join us later today, on Saturday April 4th at 7pm for the Easter Vigil and/ or on Sunday at 10am for Easter with The Rt. Rev. John Harvey Taylor. Ruben will be baptized Saturday night. We hope to see you soon.

With blessings and love,

Anne+
