Stewardship Season 2026

Dear Sibling in Christ,

Saint Paul invites us to “walk together in love” as followers of Christ. This invitation to walk in love is the theme for our stewardship campaign this year. Please join us in making your pledge of financial support to St. John’s Cathedral as we launch our second century. Walking together invites us to reflect on our relationship with God, our responsibilities to one another, and our use of the gifts entrusted to us. This reflection allows us to understand how we practice stewarding our own offerings to God through St. John’s Cathedral.

This year as we celebrate the Cathedral’s Centennial birthdate, we give sincere thanks to our ancestors who gave generously to this sacred space that blesses us with its beauty.  Generations have prayed together.  It’s now our turn to do the same – to carryon this legacy for those who will come after us. This church home is not unlike the family and home that each of us create with those we love, whether through our biological family or adopted one as we are in Christ.

As one parishioner said about their reasons forgiving to St. John’s, “although I have many siblings, it is my church family that feeds my soul. Every one of my siblings here fills me with Christ’s love, hope, and holy spirit in immeasurable ways. My giving, then, is a tribute to every member of this parish for their tangible and intangible gifts to me.”

What we give matters for there to be more than enough to make possible everything important to us at St. John’s Cathedral today and in the future. Therefore, we ask you to express your graceful generosity by increasing your pledge to help sustain the mission God has entrusted us to carry out. In the Gospel according to Luke, Jesus says “From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded: and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked” (12:48).

As we walk in love, we encourage you to take time to pray and ask God how we can be wise stewards of the blessings God has given us. What steps can we take to invest our resources in God’s kingdom and in God’s church of the future. Let us be diligent in our stewardship and share our love, bounty, and abundance with your pledge to St. John’s Cathedral this stewardship season, because what we will have tomorrow will be a reflection of what we give today.

Most sincerely,
