From the Priest Associate of Faith Formation and Finance
Alleluia, Christ is Risen! The Lord is Risen Indeed, Alleluia!
As we continue to celebrate the joy of Easter and the power of the Resurrection, we write to thank you with full hearts for your generosity during the first quarter of this year. Your faithful giving not only sustains the ministry of St. John’s—it is bearing witness to the living Christ in our midst.
Just as the stone was rolled away from the tomb, your gifts are helping to roll away obstacles in our community: bringing hope to those who feel forgotten, food to those who are hungry, and welcome to all who enter our doors. "Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it" (1 Corinthians 12:27), and it is through your gifts that we are living out this sacred call. Whether you pledged, gave online, dropped off a check, or offered support in other ways, your generosity is a sign of life made new through Christ.
For your records and tax purposes, your total giving to St. John’s from January 1 through March 31, 2025, a document will be emailed or mailed to you this coming week. Your contributions are fully tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law, and we are deeply grateful for your support. If you need to update your email or address with St. John's Cathedral, please contact Kyle Black in the church office via email or phone at 213-747-6285.
As we move forward in this our Centennial Year, we give thanks for you and your generosity. May the God who raised Jesus from the dead fill you with hope, joy, and the deep knowledge that you are making a difference.
With resurrection joy,
Mel Soriano
