Deans' Note December 5, 2021

As we move further into the Advent season we celebrate one of the great Anglican traditions -- the service of Lessons and Carols. Rather than a Christmas concert, we take time to remember the whole sweep of the history of Israel longing for freedom and the human condition in which we long for forgiveness and renewal. As Christians, we believe that the hope of the world comes through God's ongoing love for humanity and God's entering into our world in order to redeem and restore it. The service on Sunday afternoon at 5:00 pm explores these themes through the poetic words of the prophets of Israel and the beauty of music and texts ancient and new.

This year we welcome our neighbors from Pacific Crossroads Church who we are inviting to join us in worship at this service. This is the time when together as fellow Christians we wait for light in the midst of darkness together believing that our hope is found in Christ.

Please help in welcoming our neighbors as well as others who may visit us for this service.. While the service will be live-streamed, we hope you will join us in person as together we look for the coming of our Lord at his second advent, remember with joy his first coming, and to invite him now to come anew in our lives.
