Ministry

Children, Youth, and Families

At St. John’s Cathedral, children and families have always been at the heart of our life together. We believe that faith is formed through relationship, curiosity, and experience, and that children grow spiritually when they are welcomed with joy, patience, and trust. We intentionally create inviting, child-friendly spaces, such as our carpeted soft space next to the chapel and our Children’s Chapel, where children are encouraged to ask questions, play, explore music and Scripture through story and creativity, and discover that they belong fully in the life of the Church.

Whether you are visiting for the first time or have been part of St. John’s for many years, families are invited to take an active role in shaping this ministry. Through Children’s Chapel and intergenerational worship, we nurture compassion, justice, and joy across generations, learning from one another along the way. St. John’s is a place where children are welcomed as they are, families are supported in all their forms, and young people are invited to grow into their own voices, gifts, and callings. This ministry continues to grow because families show up, participate, and help create a community where faith is lived, shared, and passed on together.
