Evening Prayer: National Coming Out Day

Join the Commission on LGBTQ Ministry at St. John’s Cathedral for “Evening of Unbinding,” a National Coming Out Day evening prayer service inspired by John 11:38–44 — “Come out. Be unbound.”

The service will honor the resilience of those who have paved the way for LGBTQ+ equity and commit to moving forward against forces that would push progress back. This gathering also marks the launch of a new initiative of the Commission on LGBTQ Ministry, centered on prayer, action, advocacy and care for God’s beloved transgender and nonbinary children.

The Rt. Rev. John Harvey Taylor, Bishop of the Diocese of Los Angeles, will participate in the service, which will also include music by Jess Gracia, a meditation by Jonathan Quinn, and participation from members of the Commission on LGBTQ Ministry.

A garden reception will follow the service. All are welcome — come as you are.
