St. John’s is  a diverse community of Christians where you can belong before you believe. Our diversity includes gay, lesbian, and transgender people who are fully part of our life. It feels strange even to have to say that, yet we know in our culture many people in churches still try to lock the doors excluding LGBTQ folks or not providing a comfortable space where they can be who they are and love who they love. Here we celebrate the gifts and diversity all our people bring.

If you are a gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender person you are invited to be part of this community because you have an equal claim on the love of God. We are a community seeking to understand what it means to be  followers of Jesus in our time and place — no matter who we are. At the same time we know that sexual identity is only one part of who you are. If you come here, whether you are single or part of a family– whatever that means for you —  you will be loved, supported and challenged to be a disciple of Jesus.

We have been honored to celebrated same sex marriages at St. John's as part of our committment to be a church where LGBT individuals and families can grow. For more information about our beliefs or ministries, contact Father Dan:
